Bad Day? That’s Ok…

While teaching a class last week, we had a tiny performer that just couldn’t stop crying… Every other class since September, she had been happy and enthusiastic about coming to class and what we were learning but this week was not her typical week.  While mom worked to console her child – we thought this was a great opportunity to let you know a few things about the teachers here at DTMN.

First, we’ve seen it all… Someone that’s upset, goes potty on the floor, gets sick – there’s very little that can ruffle our feathers.  Second, kids are kids.  They are going to have good and bad days and that goes with working with little ones.  The bad days (tantrums, crying, refusing to go into the classroom) go away faster than you think and those kids become wonderful, engaged people that are ready to “rock the world.” Third, there’s no judging from us to you (the parent), our parents are devoted people doing the best they can for their kiddos and one bad night, week or month doesn’t reflect on you as a parent.  After all the terrible twos are for a whole year, right? But, if you need our help in reinforcing something that you are working on at home, let us know. We’re here to work with you and your kids so that they grow into great people!

And, just so you know that it happens to the best of us, once Miss Jacinda carried her son out of Target screaming because she wouldn’t buy him a Lightning McQueen.  That day just so happened to be the day that 3 studio parents were also shopping with their kids and got to witness her lugging a 3 year old out the front doors kicking and screaming… That was a bad day and that’s ok…
