Jennie Becker, Director of Dance at DTMN, is excited to announce the addition of the Acrobatic Arts program at Dance-Twirl Minnesota. Acrobatic Arts, or Acro, as it is more commonly referred to, is a fusion of classical dance technique and acrobatic or gymnastic elements. By blending these styles in a dance context dancers will improve their flexibility and strength and add new skills to their dance vocabulary.Twirlers can also learn valuable acrobatic skills that are used in high school and college twirling.
By having more strength and flexibility it will help the dancer’s overall ability in any dance or twirl style. This will also help them with injury prevention. The dancers will be working and training new muscles that will help stabilize their joints, give them more muscle tone, and overall more core strength!
Students of all ability levels and that are 9 years old and older are encouraged to attend.
We will be meeting in October on the 9th and the 23rd from 12 – 1:30 pm. Register for 2016-2017 classes by September 1st and attend both classes as a complimentary gift from your DTMN teachers. We can’t wait to start this class and see the benefits that our students reap from this training.
