Encouraging Practice In The Winter

Winter months are here and colder weather always presents a challenge for our performers! Here’s 3 easy steps to encourage practice for your child.

  1. Make it fun! Encourage your child to set a goal for practice minutes or accomplishing a trick and earn a reward! Remember rewards can be simple like not making your bed for a weekend, ice cream after dinner or an extra play date with a friend.
  2. Encourage twirlers to practice rolls. Rolls are often challenging for twirlers and an “easy” thing to avoid when practicing in a gym. Twirlers can use the cold weather as a way to focus and improve upon rolls.
  3. Find an Open Gym and use a corner of the open gym to work on tosses and routines!
