This blog explains what a Competition Solo Class is, what we do and how it benefits you and your kids!
Competition Solo Class is for our athletes that want to compete individually at local and/or traveling competitions. Competition solo class is a cost effective way to receive individual instruction while managing expenses.
Most Competition Solo Classes are taught by Jacinda Miller. Jacinda has been teaching for over 30 years, maintains an active judging license through the National Baton Twirling Association. Jacinda's personalized coaching approach helps each child to reach their potential while encouraging them to try new tricks. Jacinda's philosophy is that any twirler can achieve whatever goal they set with hard work and determination!
Most twirlers will start with a "Solo" routine which is a one-baton routine combining tricks into combinations that become a 2 minute routine. Throughout the season, twirlers will be adding new more challenging tricks (and sometimes removing tricks that don't work as well), working on precision elements such as speed, control and perfection.
After twirlers have learned their solo routine then we begin either the X-Strut or 2-Baton routine depending on the twirler's preference. X-Strut is where you can see the discipline of dance and gymnastics be incorporated. Our twirlers that love to dance love this routine. 2-Baton is learning a routine that incorporates twirling 2 batons simultaneously.
We follow a proven system that you can explore in this workbook. This system has been developed in our 30 years of teaching routines, learning how kids process and perfect skills and what performs best in front of judges.
Individual routines can be a very effective way for twirlers to learn so many new skills along with a way to challenge themselves to continuously improve. For twirlers joining a competition team, this can be a great way of becoming more involved at competitions and having more to participate in while attending local or traveling competitions.
